What's the fastest you've ever sold a car? From time of purchase to time of sale, the fastest I've sold a car was 3 1/2 hours. Amazingly for me, the car was a sky blue 1995 Mazda 626 with manual transmission. A good car for a good price can be sold to anyone. Profit

Car - 1995 MAZDA 626 DX/LX Manual Transmission

Purchase Price / Winning Bid. $460

Repairs: None

Time of Possession: 3 Hours

Sold for $1140.00

Notes: So I arrived at the Portland Copart facility near the airport one chilly morning to retrieve my latest project from the yard of dreams and nightmares. The reasons I chose the Mazda 626 was because I knew I could snag it for under $500 and I loved the clear tail lights. They made the car look modern and it would be attractive to anyone interested in buying it. After fees I paid approximately $460.00. When the attendant pulled the car out I ran through my obligatory checklist to ensure the car was road worthy, brakes, fluids, tires etc. After topping everything up I started her back up and the engine just purred. I was pleasantly surprised of the car's condition, the oil was clean, transmission fluids clean, battery had good charge. It's always a relief to find the car in the condition as described on Copart's website. I recommend doing an inspection on any car over $1000, but this car was cheap enough to take a chance.

After leaving the lot I took a slightly longer route home. I sat through about 45 minutes of medium to heavy traffic and the car effortlessly handled the stop and go nature of it all. Once things cleared out I opened up the little engine, flying through the gears like an enthusiastic driver on track day while the Mazda eagerly responded. I got home and filmed a quick YouTube video as I've found it to answer more questions about the car for people before they call me. Less than 20 minutes after I posted the ad I received a phone call from a web designer interested in checking it out. They came by in a 2000 -2002 black Merc S 500. (while we were negotiating, I told them the Mazda had a salvage title and the S500 driver said for a $1000 car he wouldn't worry about a salvage title but on a S500 he would avoid it like the plague) I answered all of their questions including how long had I owned it, at which I responded 2 hours or so. That gave them a chuckle. I offered them the keys and let them take it for a test drive. When they came back he was sold. We closed at $1140.00.

It was so awesome to buy a car at 8am, sell it by 11 and double my money. And while it was just a few hundred dollars, nothing beats the rush of making money selling auction cars.

I will have an in depth guide soon with all of my case studies/ car purchases and tips to get the best cars with the lowest risk. If you have any questions comment below, but more importantly -Whats the fastest you've ever sold a car? I'd love to hear your stories.

I recently purchased a 08 Honda civic from the Spokane copart about 2 weeks ago. Best decision I ever made. I study the pictures really well and I was smart enough to catch that they had the odometer set to kilometers instead of miles. I got the car for $1900 with 84k on the engine with about 300 worth of repairs. The car is worth about 8k. I know that every copart is different but I have had really great luck with the 3 cars that I've bought from them. Study the pictures that they give you and you shouldn't have too many surprises. I love copart
